Tips to Get Glowing Skin

Everyone wants to be perfect, well, at least a clear, glowing skin. If you ask any makeup pro they will tell you that you can find the secret to glowing skin in the pan of a highlighter palette. But that's not true, we can still get glowing skin without makeup!

1. Avoid long steamy showers

Long showers or baths and hot water remove oils and damage the surface of your skin. Limit your bath or shower to 5 to 10 minutes and use warm/cool, not hot water.

2. Apply SPF daily

When it comes to glowing skin, the first thing comes to my mind is 'wear sunscreen'. Sunscreen is crucial for preventing wrinkles, sunspots, acne scarring, and skin cancer. 'It's so much easier to prevent the damage than it is to fix it afterwards.' Don't forget to apply sunscreen when you are indoor, and during winter months!

3. Hydrates skin from the inside

I believe everyone had heard of drinking 8 glasses of water a day, but do you know what water does for our skin? Water helps clear the toxins that cause inflammation and blemishes, it also assists in transporting nutrients and oxygen to skin cells, and preventing dehydration, which can cause premature ageing.

4. Go to bed early

Researchers have also found that mitosis - the process by which cells divide and repair - occurs roughly between 11 p.m. and midnight, whether you're asleep or awake. During sleep, the body releases human growth hormone, a necessary ingredient for collagen production-the protein that gives people shiny hair, strong nails, and glowing skin. Skimping on sleep raises cortisol levels, which can interfere with collagen production. If bedtime has drifted later and later recently, try moving it forward in 15-minute increments over the course of a week or two until you achieve at least a seven-hour minimum.
