This ancient carbon component continues to be popularised in Millennial skincare regimes, and for good reason. When used with other active ingredients, charcoal-based products, like our Oxygen Boost Charcoal Fizzing Mask works like a magnet to attract and absorb dirt and oil. As a result, your skin is left feeling smooth and clean, your complexion will glow and you'll be able to create super cute selfies accompanied by hashtags like #skingoals.

Apply a thin layer twice a week on dry face, avoiding the eye area. Relax and allow 5-10 minutes to fully activate (the formula will start bubbling, wait for the bubbles fully appear!). Massage face with fingertips and rinse thoroughly with warm water and Konjac Sponge. (fyi it’s a mask not a cleanser!)

Old-school glycerin is one of of them, with a 2016 study finding it to be "the most effective humectant (a type of moisturising agent that pulls water into the outer layer of your skin) in comparison with numerous others including alpha hydroxy acids (such as lactic acid and glycolic acid); hyaluronic acid and sorbitol.

Decyl Glucoside

Despite the science-y sounding name decyl glucoside is actually a natural, renewable, plant-derived, biodegradable ingredient derived from 100% renewable raw materials (specifically coconut and corn starch). Mild and gentle, it helps moisturise the skin by preventing inflammation and itchiness, making it popular in personal hygiene products toiletries.
